At HFC, we’re always looking for ways to make our hospitality facility services more sustainable. In line with this commitment, Thebe van Rensbergen from Phi Factory, joined us as an interim ESG project manager for the past three months, focusing on turning sustainability goals into actions.
Where does the CO2 impact really come from?
Real impact starts with insights. To get a clear picture of our environmental footprint, Remon Nijnuis and Jeanette Morren from Phi Factory, conducted a CO2 deep dive. “Our goal was to identify the biggest sources of emissions and pinpoint where HFC can make the most meaningful impact, both in hotel operations and guest experience.”
As part of this research, Remon and Jeanette mapped out the CO2 generated by our core activities, including laundry and linen management, waste processing, cleaning services, deliveries and supply chain.
Power of collaboration in sustainability
The research revealed that the majority of emissions come from suppliers rather than internal operations. This means that the key to sustainability isn’t just in optimizing our own operations but across the entire supply chain. With these insights, we can now team up with the right partners to drive meaningful, long-term change in our facility services.
